St. Teresa’s Prep welcomes girls with a broad range of abilities and our staff ensure that areas of weakness, just like areas of strength, receive appropriate support to ensure that each girl is able to learn in the way which best suits her to reach her full potential.
Before girls start at St Teresa’s Prep, they come to spend a welcome day in their class and, during this visit, they are assessed informally by the class or subject teacher. Any areas of strength or weakness are identified at this point and steps automatically put into place to support them when they arrive.
This means that each girl will follow an individual programme at her own pace using the many different resources we can offer to address the areas in question. The atmosphere is therefore one of understanding and support with close liaison between the Learning Support Department and specialist subject teachers. In this way, the skills learned in a one-to-one or group session are followed through in the classroom.
